Crystals

Crystals have become one of the latest trends of the year, especially during lockdown. Here, I have delved into the world of their many benefits.

Many believe that crystals hold complex energy fields which help to promote your body’s physical, emotional and spiritual health and wellbeing as well as relieving stress. Particularly, in these unprecedented circumstances we all find ourselves in, finding comfort and reassurance is something we are all seeking and crystals might be the answer that you are looking for.

Whether you already believe in their powers or are completely against the idea, giving it a go might surprise you and surely during these times, anything that may help is worth a try?

There are so many different crystals out there and it is all about finding the correct one for you; the one that you are drawn to will benefit you the most. A few examples of the most popular/common crystals to use for their calming properties are:

Amethyst

A rich purple in colour, this is known to have a protective nature, keeping you from stress and negative emotions.

Orange Calcite

Carries a powerful healing energy which is especially for helping with emotional problems that can restore your body’s physical and mental balance. Self – healing is another property that this crystal is able to help with.

Rose Quartz

This is a very popular crystal, which many have around the house for decoration but may not know of the benefits that they have. Its other name is ‘the heart stone’ emphasising its encouragement of unconditional love, self-love and promotes the feeling of peace.

White Howlite

This crystal is marble in its appearance, and is supposed to bring out emotional expression as well as helping to reduce your pain/stress.

Angelite

Seen through the name, this crystal is meant to make you feel less alone and ‘puts you in contact’ with your angels as well as promoting peace and reducing the feelings of anxiety.

These are just 5 different crystals out of hundreds and it is all about finding the ones that work for you and that you feel a personal connection to which will be completely different for each person. Some people will not believe in their properties, some will find them just as a comfort and others think that they perform ‘casual magic’ in their daily lives. However, if you do find calm in this always changing world through these, then that’s the only reason you need to know about what they can do for you.

You might be wondering how you use them and what do you do with them once you have them! For me, I keep them on my bedside table and use them when I feel like I need a moment of calm. This can be through simply holding them in your palm, meditating with them alongside you or just leaving them around your room/house or even travelling around with them on you to carry around their healing powers. It is completely up to you how you decide to use these crystals and whatever feels right, is then the correct way for you.

You can set your crystal with an intention/command if you have a particular reasoning/purpose for it, which then furthers its personal connection to you/your spiritual wellbeing. As crystals are a natural creation, their benefits can be reduced by not being ‘in touch’ with the world around them, so every week or so you can leave your crystals in direct sunlight or moonlight therefore re-charging them, so they keep their energies at the highest level. Some people also like to cleanse their crystals from negative emotions, which could potentially tarnish their effects, just using water when they feel like they need to do so.

So, hopefully this gives a little more of an insight into the benefits that healing crystals can have and they can also provide beauty within your life during these challenging times!
